I am an interdisciplinary researcher and educator working on questions at the intersection of physics, biology, and mathematics. My research focuses on how individual elements interact to create complex collective behaviors.

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Integrated Sciences: Physics of Living Systems at the Department of Integrated Sciences at Claremont McKenna College. I encourage students across the 5Cs interested in my research to reach out to discuss opportunities.

Joint Intern/Master's Student Opportunity in Bengaluru

Prof. Avaneesh Narla (Claremont McKenna College, California) and Prof. Vishweshwara Guttal (Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru) are looking to hire a joint intern/master's student based in Bengaluru to work on collective swarming behavior in caterpillars. The student will design experiments to record collective behavior, collect experimental data, and analyze that data.
